A Day in Our COVID-19 Life
So, life has changed and life has changed in some definitely big ways. While our normal schedule is insane....COVID-19 has caused us to slow down and really get back to the basics of life. This is a typical day in our COVID-19 lockdown.
8 am -- wake up/kids sometimes wake up early but use this time to play with their new dog (Chandler -- don't worry I will introduce him soon!).
8-10 am -- I work on grading or other things that need done for my job or spend some time on homework or reading (currently my personal reading is the Beck Diet -- don't worry more about that later)
--I start my day with some healthy Shakeology each morning. I can't believe that it is fully nutritious and helps me to get going with ease.
10 am -- we start with homeschool and move through our lessons....the kids are done with the stuff that is assigned from their school between 11:30 and 12.
--while the kids are doing school work, I work on chores around the house, cleaning, and prepping our meals for the day
--I also cook lunch when they are working on their final assignment or after they are done with school (depending on how the day goes)
12 pm (noon) -- we eat lunch
12:30 pm -- studies resume with the extras that I am doing with the kids. This an include an art project, a science lab, some history lesson work, and a daily COVID-19 journal.
2 pm -- we are done by this time every day and some days we are done earlier.
5 pm -- dinner time
6 pm -- I am either working on homework or in a Zoom meeting for class. (Mon-Wed are typically Zoom and the other days are writing/reading/grading).
8:30-9 pm -- kids go to bed (we tried a loose bedtime but it did not work with the school routine)
12-1 am -- my bedtime. I am a little out of my early bedtime routine but I will get there.
This is what life is like during COVID-19. If we need something from the store, little trips are canceled and we wait until our weekly trip. Lists help ensure that we are minimizing trips out of the house and overall we are really working towards making things great.
