Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Dieting

So, I'm fat. There I said it. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, I want to discuss my failures in the dieting world. I have failed at literally every single diet that I have ever tried. It does not matter what it is. I have no self control and pretty much just suck at dieting. To be honest, this year I have just kind of given up and have decided to work on maintaining my weight. I kept seeing posts for a certain online diet program that was out of my modest budget. I researched it and learned that it uses cognitive behavioral therapy to teach you how to lose weight and keep it off. This took me on my own adventure for a program that would offer me the same skills and information, but remain within my budget. What I found was the Beck Diet Solution . So, I started reading the book this morning with the goal of finishing it over the weekend so that I can get started with the workbook on Monday. Beachbody On Demand just released the workout that I have been wanting t...

A Day in Our COVID-19 Life

So, life has changed and life has changed in some definitely big ways. While our normal schedule is insane....COVID-19 has caused us to slow down and really get back to the basics of life. This is a typical day in our COVID-19 lockdown. 8 am -- wake up/kids sometimes wake up early but use this time to play with their new dog (Chandler -- don't worry I will introduce him soon!). 8-10 am -- I work on grading or other things that need done for my job or spend some time on homework or reading (currently my personal reading is the Beck Diet -- don't worry more about that later) --I start my day with some healthy Shakeology each morning. I can't believe that it is fully nutritious and helps me to get going with ease. 10 am -- we start with homeschool and move through our lessons....the kids are done with the stuff that is assigned from their school between 11:30 and 12. --while the kids are doing school work, I work on chores around the house, cleaning, and prepping our m...

A Lot Has Happened, A Lot Has Changed

So, if you had told me over a year ago that I would quit blogging and that I would not continued, I would have looked at you like you were crazy.....but, somehow one thing or another in life got in the way and I stopped posting and blogging about what is going on in my crazy world. There are certainly things that have happened and to be frank, the entire world has been turned upside down. So, what's been happening??? COVID-19, it is a virus that is also known as the coronavirus and it is serious. We are actually on forced stay at home orders, businesses are closed (unless deemed essential) and we are literally stuck in our homes doing everything. Even schools and colleges are closed. Obviously, I had considered home education for my children in the past and to be honest, I feel like my children are able to learn more in less time than if they were in school. I hear/see other parents complaining about this time, but I am enjoying every single minute of precious time that I g...
