What a Week

So, being off of social media has been surprisingly easy. We have been so busy and yet there has been no temptation to look at things or see what people are up to. It's weird. I really thought that I would miss being on social media, but I do not.

The kids are doing really well, but boy has this week been one of the busiest of the summer. Adeline and Althea have been consumed with dance intensives. They are having fun and enjoying things. Today Adeline has a small performance and I am soooo excited too see her dance and to see what she has learned over the course of dance.

Althea has a second week of intensives.

She turned 12 on Wednesday and we were able to have a small celebration for her and Andrew. I took her out to breakfast on Tuesday morning alone. Then on her birthday we did lunch at Panera and she had dance. She woke up to some llama themed presents. We then had a small family birthday party (just my parents & brother) and went by my grandma's and aunt Bev's for them to get to open presents. We did the normal family party with her and Andrew combined. They had a really good time and it was nice to celebrate with at least a few people.

I have not been feeling the greatest. I've been having some stomach pain and am losing weight. I will eventually go to the dr if it does not ease up, but for now I am okay with not feeling the best if it means weight loss....lol! I have such a long way to go and losing weight has been very difficult for me. I am learning what foods that I can eat (basically no fat) and what foods do not work for me. It has been a journey and I feel glad that I am beginning to figure it out. So, maybe forced healthy is what is going to work for me...b/c I am stubborn and obviously my food issues now are no longer that I don't eat, but instead that I want to eat everything. I sure wish that I had a normal relationship with food.

Final thought of the day......kid's activities for fall!! The kids finally figured out what they want to do for fall. Andrew is going to be taking guitar lessons. Huxley is going to do Ninja Warrior training through Peoria Elite Gymnastics Training. The girls will remain in dance at Cornerstone. Adeline wants to dance one day a week and have acting lessons, so hopefully I will be able to find that...if not, it will be because of COVID.
